Teacher asks questions like ; Do you live in a flat or in a house ? Do you live in the city or in the village ?
Convey the meaning of the word “ town”. Elicit or provide through the context. Write on the board the words : Kyiv , Vasilkov , Novo Petrovtsi . Ask questions : Is Kyiv a country ? Elicit the answer-( a city). Is Novopetrovtsi a city ? Elicit-a village . Is Vasilkov a city or a village ? Elicit/Provide –a town . Check understanding using CCQs. Elicit/provide the meaning of the words : Lisbon, New England , Seoul and Samoa Practise pronunciation;(/ˈlɪzbən/
Ask Students to look at the pictures and ask : “ What can you you see in these pictures ? “ Elicit/ provide the word “ church”
Ask Ss to match the pictures with places

Set the task : Listen to 4 people speaking about these places. Put these pictures in the correct order

Divide the class into two groups; Set the task ; You really like living in the city / village Write as many things as you can about the city? Village Set the time limit-7minutes :
Now we have a competition. Teams stand in line facing each other. The task is to make a sentence about a city/ village ( Each team in turns makes sentences about a city/village. They throw a toy to their opponents . Tell them they must throw the toy to the people who have not answered yet.) Give them the criteria ; for every correct sentence they get a point . If the person can’t make a sentence , he can give the toy to another member of the team but then the team will get only .0,5 point .
